Appts. fitted to an extruder, esp. one fitted with an annular die removes extruded material during barrel purging. The die has a fixed position, rotating die ring (12) with nozzles (27) aligned towards the inside of the die ring (12) and connected to a chamber(3) fed with a pressurised gas. Pref., a stationary die ring (1) positioned in front of th rotating die ring (12) has inward directed inclined nozzles (6) fed with pressurised gas from the chamber(34). A guiding nozzle system (11) between the stationary (1) and rotating (12) die rings has nozzles around the circumference directed towards the inside of the ring and fed by pressurised gas. USE/ADVANTAGE - On an extruder for clearing away extruded material during barrel purging between material or colour changes. Only small material pieces are produced by the appts. allowing easy breakdown with simple screws which use less energy. Pulverized material can be immediately recycled in an extruder.
