PURPOSE:To prohibit the visual recognition of image noises at the time of line sequential scanning and to improve a display grade by shielding the display screen section which is subjected to display driving by the scanning lines positioned near the terminal sequence of the display screen line-sequentially with shielding film patterns formed in the display device. CONSTITUTION:The gate lines near the terminal of the line sequence, TFT (thin-film transistors) 8 connected to the gate lines and picture element electrodes are shielded. Namely, the thin metallic film patterns 3 for a black matrix on the inside surface of a color side glass substrate 2 are utilized as the shielding film 13 for the noise images and the shielding film 13 is formed by forming the thin metallic film patterns 3 over the entire area of the noise image section. The visual recognition of the noise images is inhibited by forming the shielding film 13 in such a manner and are annihilated from the display screen. The remedy to the noises which are the drawbacks of the line sequential system arising at the time of the rereproduction of the images is effectively solved. |
