PURPOSE: To control damping force in high precision by providing a plunger free to work so as to generate hard damping between compression and spring return of a shock absorber while maintaining a position against a flow device free to electrically control. CONSTITUTION: A pressure cylinder 48 of a shock absorber 10 has a working chamber to be partitioned up and down by a piston assembly body 46, a unidirectional flow of damping fluid passing through a damping fluid tank 84 is given by a rod guide/valve assembly body 86 to support a piston rod 44 in this working chamber 50, and the flow of the damping fluid is controlled in accordance with an electric signal from an electric connector assembly body 76. That is, the rod guide/valve assembly body 86 allows a flow of fluid during compression of the shock absorber 10, and in the meantime, it prevents a flow of fluid during spring return of the shock absorber 10 and generates hard damping force. Consequently, it is possible to control quantity of damping fluid in comparatively high precision and at comparatively high speed. |
