发明名称 FRICTION MATERIAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To maintain a high coefficient of friction stable up to a high temperature region, even in the case of a fellow material made of steel, by constituting a material of respectively specific % by weight a steel fiber and/or steel whisker, bound carbon and the rest of an addition agent. CONSTITUTION:A friction material is constituted of by weight 10 to 70% steel fiber and/or steel whisker, 2 to 30% bound carbon and the rest of an addition agent. This bound carbon contains even carbon obtained by the CVD method in addition to carbon obtained by baking in the atmosphere of non-oxidation organic matter of various resins especially thermo-setting resin, coal system or petroleum system tar, pitches, etc. The bound carbon in the friction material generates its strength insufficient, when the amount of the carbon is less than 2%, and decreases a coefficient of friction when the amount exceeds 30%. An amount of steel fiber and/or steel whisker in a base material, when less than 10%, decreases the coefficient of friction and, when exceeding 70%, causes a problem of generating seizure with a fellow material. Thus by a combined effect of steel fiber and/or steel whisker and bound carbon, the high coefficient of friction is maintained even when a temperature increases of the steel-made fellow material.
