An absorbent, liquid impervious laminated sheet material is disclosed which is particularly useful for disposable towels, blankets, mattress covers, bibs and the like. The sheet material has a first absorbent layer of tissue paper and a second liquid impervious plastic layer having a plurality of pockets formed therein extending away from the first layer.
