PURPOSE: To obtain a retroreflective article which accelerates retroreflection and has high daytime lightness by including a sheet having a retroreflection region having many cube corner elements and opaque pigment particles having the lightness improving property dispersed in the retroreflection region of the sheet. CONSTITUTION: Thus retroreflective article 30 is provided with a cube corner sheet 32 having the retroreflection region 33 in its front part 35. The front part 35 consists of body parts 34 and the many cube corner elements 36 projecting from the body parts 34. The opaque pigment particles 38 having the lightness improving property are dispersed over the entire part of the cube corner sheet 32. The cube corner sheet 32 may be provided with a covering film 40 to protect the cube corners against UV rays and corrosion. The rear surfaces of the cube corner elements 36 are so formed as to have a boundary with a reflection material, such as metal, or a material having the refractive index different from the refractive index of the polymer material of the cube corner elements 35, for example, air, in order to accelerate the retroreflection. |
