PURPOSE:To prevent production of irregular dots by reflection in an automatic developing machine having a drying zone where a heat transmitting body is used, by incorporating a specified silver halide emulsion into at least one silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:This silver halide photosensitive material is to be processed in an automatic developing machine having a drying zone with a heat transmitting body at >=75 deg.C. At least one silver halide emulsion layer of this photosensitive material contains at least one silver halide emulsion having >=25 flatness degree. The silver halide particles used are preferably plate-like particles, and the flatness degree of the emulsion is defined by D/t<2>, where D (mum) is the average diameter of the area having equal area to the projection area of each particle, and t (mum) is the average thickness of each particle. The silver halide to be used for the silver halide emulsion may be any of silver bromide, silver iodide bromide, silver iodide chloride bromide, silver chloride bromide, and silver chloride.
