<p>An automobile steering lock comprises a lock assembly 3, a rod member 9 telescopically moving in a tubular body member 8 and a passageway in a housing 21, the rod member 9 having a plurality of grooves 91 consisting of a vertical face 910 and a sloped face 911 and two vertical plates 5, 5' engageable with the grooves to fix the rod member 9 at a certain length relative to the body member 8 so as to attach two hooks 80, 90 on a steering wheel to lock it immovable. When the lock 3 is in its locked condition (See figure 6) it is possible to extend the rod member 9 with respect to the housing 21 by overcomming the biasing force of the springs 52, 52' and retracting the vertical plates 5, 5', whilst inward retraction is impossible because of the vertical plates 5, 5' abutting against the vertical faces 910 of the grooves 91. <IMAGE></p> |
