<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the artificial tooth root which has no harm on the human body, has excellent bioaffinity, high surface hardness, mechanical strength, and good machinability, is safe and inexpensive and is highly aesthetic by using pure titanium for a base material and forming a titanium nitride layer having a specific film thickness on the surface of the base material by a low-temp. ion plating method. CONSTITUTION:The titanium nitride having the average film thickness ranging 0.5 to 5.0mum and having >=2000Hv hardness is formed in a 10 to 300 deg.C on the surface of the base material by the ion plating method; in addition, the color tones of the base material are changed without changing the film layer of the titanium nitride layer. The change of the various gradation of the golden color specific to titanium nitride according to a requirement without changing the film thickness of the titanium nitride is attained by controlling the evaporation rate of the titanium and the amt. of the gaseous nitrogen to be introduced at the time of the ion plating. This is attained without changing the film thickness of the titanium nitride to be formed.</p> |
