The subject of the invention is methods and devices for automatically inserting a male component into a female component into which it penetrates with a slight clearance. A device according to the invention comprises a multi-axis automatic machine controlled by a mini computer 6 and comprising a table 5 which can move along three mutually orthogonal (trirectangular) axes Ox, Oy, Oz, which table carries a servomotor 7 which drives a vertical shaft 8 carrying a yoke 9 supporting an insertion device 12 driven about a horizontal axis 10 by a servomotor 11. The insertion device carries an insertion gripper 15, the noses 16 of which grip around a male connection component 2 in order to insert it automatically into a female cavity 1.
