PURPOSE:To allow a user to easily set the number of papers which are printed before printing is stopped after tone shortage by providing a recorder with a control means which stores the number of papers set with a means for setting the number of papers, in a nonvolatile memory, prints the set number of papers after the toner shortage detection, and stops printing. CONSTITUTION:A toner shortage detecting means 11 detects that the quantity of the toner is in short, and the nonvolatile memory 5 stores the number of printing papers which are printed before printing is stopped after toner shortage detection. The means 8 and 9 for setting the number of papers allow a user to set the number of papers which are printed before printing is stopped after toner shortage detection. In this case, the control means 1 stores the number of papers set by the means 8 and 9 for setting the number of papers in the nonvolatile memory 5, prints for the set number of papers after toner shortage is detected, and stops printing. In such a manner, a user can easily set the number of papers which are printed before printing is stopped after toner shortage detection. |
