PROCESS FOR COATING A CATALYST SUPPORT

A process for coating a catalyst support with catalyst material simplifies manufacture and incorporation in a reactor. To this end, the uncoated catalyst support is first incorporated in the reactor. The finely granulated catalyst material is mixed with a carrier fluid, for example the reaction gas itself. The carrier fluid is then conducted through the reactor so that catalyst material is precipitated onto the catalyst support. The precipitated catalyst material is compacted.
