PURPOSE:To obtain the title device which immediately generates an alarm and informs a driver about danger when a dangerous distance is generated, by providing the function for always setting the judgement standard in variable manners on the basis of a plurality of information such as speed of own vehicle, air temperature, and anomaly of road surface, for a dangerous distance judging circuit. CONSTITUTION:The information related to the between-vehicle distance detected by a supersonic wave distance measuring system 1 is sent into a dangerous distance judging circuit 2. When the between-vehicle distance information is inputted into the dangerous distance judging circuit 2, the safe between-vehicle distance is calculated from the speed of an own vehicle, weather at present which is previously inputted from an information input means 7, state of road surface depending onto the weather, and the time in day or at night, and it is judged if the between-vehicle distance at present is safe or not. If the distance is dangerous, an alarm signal (a) and a brake control signal (b) are outputted, and an alarm means 8 is driven, and a brake control means 3 is excited to operate a brake mechanism 30A. When the brake mechanism 30A is operated, the alarm of the alarm means 8 and the distance measurement by the supersonic wave measuring system 1 are suspended.
