Heterocyclylcarbonyl (and sulfonyl) pyrimidinylpiperazine propanes of formula (I) and (II) where R is (a) or (b) for (I) and (c) or (d) for (II) and salts are useful as anti-anxiety agents, tranquilizers and anti-emetics. (I) may be prepd. e.g. by dehydration coupling of 4(4- (2-pyrimidinyl)-2-piperazinyl)butyric acid with amine RH, and (II) e.g. by reacting 1-(20pyrimidyl)piperazine with appropriate 3- chloropropyl sulfonamide Cl(CH3)2-SO2-R1. |
