PURPOSE:To prevent stain of an optical system, by constituting so that a charge corotron, upon starting a copying machine, is energized after a surface cleaned by a cleaning blade has passed through the charge coroton. CONSTITUTION:When a start switch is turned on, a copying controlling circuit turns on a timer, also energizes a retracting solenoid 10, and brings a cleaning blade 9 contact with th surface of a photosensitive drum 1. A set time of the timer is set so as to be equal to the time when the surface of the drum 1 passes through a charge corotron 4 after the retracting solenoid 10 has been turned on, and after this time has passed, the charge corotron 4 is driven by a high voltage power supply 17, and the surface of the cleaned photosensitive drum 1 is charged to plus. Accordingly, a toner which has been left linearly on the drum 1 when a copying machine is stopped is removed when the copying machine starts, and is not induced by an optical system. |
