PURPOSE:To control the car speed to a constant value with the optimum fuel consumption efficiency by calculating the aimed engine torque and aimed deceleration speed ratio on the basis of the torque-deceleration speed ratio characteristic an the optimum fuel consumption characteristic and feedback-controlling the torque of an internal combustion engine and the speed change ratio of a continuously variable transmission. CONSTITUTION:A calculating means M4 calculates the torque - deceleration speed ratio characteristic while is optimum for controlling the car speed detected by a detecting means M3 to an aimed car speed which is set according to the accelerator operation by a setting means M2. A control quantity calculating means M5 calculates the aimed engine torque and the aimed deceleration speed ratio on the basis of the calculated torque - deceleration speed ratio characteristic and the optimum fuel consumption characteristic which is previously stored in a memory means M1 and feedback-controls the torque of an internal combustion engine E/G and the deceleration speed ratio of a continuously variable transmission T/M through a control means M6. Therefore, the car speed can be controlled to a constant value with the optimum fuel consumption efficiency, and the car speed can be controlled to an aimed car speed without generating the speed change shock. |
