PURPOSE:To enable the accurate control of stroke by inserting pulse interval with time, and detecting microscopic distance more than the resolution of an encoder. CONSTITUTION:The A phase signal from an encoder detector 65 is generated at every specified distance p of the main shaft quill feed, and measures the pulse generation interval times T0, T1, T2 when A phase signal starts up in few pitches just before the target position at the time the remaining distance h until the target position is converted to time t. And, the time t to travel the remaining distance h is estimated from that generation interval times T0, T1, T2, namely, the time to travel the specified distance, and the position control of quill feed is performed by a resolution that is more minute than the pitch p of an encoder 60, namely, the distance between the detection through holes 62. Thus, more precise stroke control can be performed using encoders that are comparatively low-priced. |
