PURPOSE:To prevent a state, where a stepping motor is incapable of following the timing of a step pulse, by providing a step conversion means for converting, at the time of an inverse mode, a step pulse into the step pulse with proper pulse spacing to be set beforehand. CONSTITUTION:At the time of an inversion mode for seeking from 0 track being the outermost peripheral track to 1 track on the inner side, the pulse spacing of a step pulse STEP1 outputted from FDC11 is converted into a step pulse STEP2 with proper pulse spacing according to the characteristics of a stepping motor 14 to conduct the inverse drive of said stepping motor 14 so that said stepping motor 14 is driven while surely following the timing of said step pulse STEP2. Thus, the stepping motor 14 is surely driven as far as the number of step pulses from the FDC11 so that it is possible to prevent the state for said motor to be incapable of following said timing. |
