PURPOSE:To measure the concentration and the viscosity of a solution quickly by mainly generating a sliding surface wave having particle displacement in the orthogonal direction with respect to the propagating direction and which is in parallel with the propagating surface of a surface wave as a surface elastic wave that is generated with an input electrode. CONSTITUTION:An input-side interdigital type transducer (IDT) 9 and an output- side IDT 11 are arranged with a measuring part 7 in-between on the surface of a piezoelectric crystal plate. A frequency-controlled signal is imparted to one electrode 9a through a signal input lead wire 13 in the IDT 9. Thus, a sliding surface wave can be generated especially in surface elastic waves. Therefore, the surface elastic wave is transmitted to the output IDT 11 through the measuring part 7. At this time, the difference in load effects for the measuring part 7 indicates the different effect for every frequency of the sliding surface wave. The difference in effects can be measured as the difference in oscillating frequencies. The change in state of solution to be measured which is in contact with the measuring part 7 can be measured. |
