In the prodn. of long lengths of a cast material a slit tube is inserted into a casting former or sleeve before the material is cast or injected, this tube being a cylinder or a truncated cone. The cast material used is concrete, resin-concrete or a synthetic resin. A slit cylinder (2) is placed into the lower sleeve (1a); the cylinder contains reinforcements or iron rods (6) and circular-section members (7). When this is inside, a set quantity of casting material is poured or injected from one end or through the slit. The top half of the sleeve is added and (e.g.) screwed down, so closing the slit.
