Method for representing the timing error

A method for representing the timing error of a video signal picked up from the magnetic tape on the screen of a monitor is proposed, the timing error being represented in the form of a line deviating more or less from the vertical. To simplify the known method, the reference H synchronisation pulse signal, delayed approximately by the period of one half line, is logically combined with the video signal with the timing error and this mixed signal is supplied to a display device.
