A process and a device are useful for reducing the noise emission of submerged submarines (10). Agitated mechanical elements in the interior send vibrations along a transmission path to an outer casing. The vibrations are damped on the transmission path by damping means. To this end, the damping means are designed as an evacuated intermediate space (14) and incorporated in the transmission path. |
