PURPOSE:To achieve a considerable reduction in concentration of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide by using oxidation catalysts for both lower temperatures and higher temperatures at a combustion section in burning fuel gas of kerosene. CONSTITUTION:Simultaneously with energization of a preheating heater 20 a fan 10 starts operating and the heated air flows through a premixing chamber 50, is diffused as it passes through a flow-straightening screen 100, and preheats a higher- temperature catalyst 90 and a lower-temperature catalyst 60 uniformly as a whole. Since this preheating of the catalysts makes the ignition for the combustion easier, this constitution serves to make the atmosphere active with sufficient oxygen. A thermistor 80 senses changes of the resistance value to determine whether or not the heated air has preheated the catalysts up to a temperature for easy ignition for the combustion. Next, as ignition heater 70 is energized. On the other hand, gasified kerosene 130 prepared in a vaporizer 30 which is under control at a set temperature is ejected from a nozzle 40 projected from vaporizer 30. This gasified kerosene is mixed thoroughly with the preheating heated air 120 in the premixing chamber 50, passes through the flow-straightening screen 100, and flows to the catalysts 60, 90 where it undergoes combustion. As a result, complete combustion takes place, leaving no fuel gas unburnt, and the gas discharged is rendered almost odorless. |
