The device disclosed comprises a regulating piston (12) for adjusting the control member (11) of the variable displacement pump (10). Said control member is acted on by a control pressure generated by a regulated valve (22) which is acted on by the differential pressure at a measurement choke (16) arranged in the delivery line (15) of the pump. In addition, a pressure spring (23) acts on the regulating valve against the higher pressure. In order to generate the control pressure, an external pressure supply (26) (pressure reservoir) is provided and, in addition, a direct connection (70) with choke (72) exists between the high pressure side and the control pressure connection for the regulating piston (12).
