A pump for generating pressure in hydraulic circuits, having at least one hydraulic regulating unit (final controlling element) and a holding tank for hydraulic fluid, such as is available, in particular, in the form of the axial-piston pump as a high-performance pump having good capacities and high robustness, often produces unacceptable noise, which, in the customary arrangement, is emitted particularly strongly in a holding tank for hydraulic fluid and is superimposed with characteristic vibrations of the tank walls. The invention overcomes the problem by accommodating the pump in a vibrationally damped manner in a pump casing separate from the holding tank. The pump casing is expediently formed as a closed capsule made of heavy material, the pump casing preferably being mounted in a vibrationally damped manner and the way in which pumps are run through the pump casing likewise taking vibration damping into account.
