PURPOSE:To maintain the safety of information on a computer by giving a pass word transmission function to MODEM on a terminalside and giving a pass word request function, a storage function and a comparison function to MODEM on a computer-side. CONSTITUTION:The function transmitting a pass word is given to MODEM 6 on the terminal-side and the pass word request function, the storage function and the comparison function are given to MODEM 7 on the computer-side. At the time of connecting the terminal equipment 1 to the computer 2, MODEM 7 on the computer-side compares the pass word transmitted from MODEM 6 on the terminal-side with the pass word stored in the storage function by the comparison function and decides the right or wrong of connection. Then, only the terminal equipment whose pass word has coincided is connected as the terminal of the computer and the connection of the terminal equipment whose pass word does not coincide is excluded. Thus, the safety of information on the computer can be maintained. |
