The bar (a) is for use in profiled rails, for wires suspending paintings. It is bent over (b) at the top end, where it is thickened by a bush (c) pressed onto it. This secures it in the rail, in which it slides freely. The hook (d) can contain a sharp-edged hole (f) of larger diameter than the bar, being thrust onto the latter from the underside, after which it is locked in place by the weight on the hook, which is caused to tilt, pressing the edge of the hole into the bar.
