The invention concerns a charging level seizing and signalling device that is designed, in particular, for seizing the solid charging level in the furnace vat and signalling of the time when this charge descends to a set level. In accordance with this invention, the device consists of an U-shaped glass tube, partially filled with liquid, which has an arm linked to the atmosphere and an arm linked to the furnace vat, through a duct; a seal cap; a fixed electrode immersed in the liquid of the tube, a mobile electrode actuated by a vertical-adjustment system based upon the seized charging level; an electrical transducer; and a base.
