<p>The dental handpiece control apparatus of the present invention comprises a fluidic control unit which controls the discharge of drive air and enter to a dental handpiece. The control unit includes a control chamber, a main inlet connected to a source of pressurized air for pressurizing the control chamber, a main outlet adapted to be connected to the dental handpiece and a control valve for directing air from the main inlet to the main outlet. Air is bled from the control chamber to a secondary chamber which includes means responsive to the pressure in the secondary chamber for varying the position of the control valve relative to the main outlet. An external foot-operated valve controls the pressure in the secondary chamber by adjusting the discharge of bleed-off air from the secondary chamber.</p> |
