PURPOSE:To facilitate the diagnosis relating to the focus by detecting the best focus position of a sensor of plural parallel lines and displaying the result as a numeral. CONSTITUTION:A read position A of an original plate 212 is placed under an original platen 204 by a distance of Lmm, a read position B is placed at the same height as the upper face of the original platen 204 and the read position C is arranged (602) tiltedly with respect to the original platen 204 so as to be placed to the original platen 204 by Lmm upward. Then the original is read by plural parallel line sensors 301-303. A CPU 613 discriminates the best focal position of the line sensors 301-303 and the value calculated from the best focus position is displayed numerally on an operation section 622. Thus, the diagnosis relating to the focus is facilitated. |
