PURPOSE:To decrease the unequal film thickness even in the case of forming the cylinder-shaped photosensitive body having a long length in the axial direction by forming at least one layer of photosensitive layers by a spray coating method. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive body is formed by applying at least one layer of the photosensitive layers by the spray coating method (A) on a cylinder- shaped conductive base 1 and specifying the length in the axial direction of the coating region of the photosensitive layers on the base 1 to >=300mm. The base 1 is held horizontally around the central axis thereof and is rotated, then while a mist-like coating liquid 3 is discharged from a spray gun 2, the gun 2 is moved in parallel with the central axis to apply the liquid 3 in the base in the coating method A. The photosensitive body is produced by forming, for example, an intermediate layer and a charge generating layer successively by a dip coating method on the base 1 and forming a charge transfer layer thereon by the coating method A. |
