PURPOSE:To have good suspension characteristics by fitting a suspension device with an arm working also as an FRP spring whose one end is fixed to a single body side member with the aid of a box-shaped bracket, therein constructing the bracket in such a forms as widening into the backmost, and interposing an electric member of for ex. rubber between the bracket inner wall and the arm. CONSTITUTION:A front suspension of McFerson type for a car is equipped with an FRP type cantilever arm 11 working also as a spring in its suspension mechanism part, wherein the arm 11 extends in the direction across the car width, and its fix end 12 is fixed to a member 14 on the car body side with the aid of a metal bracket 13. This bracket 13 is formed in a trapezoidal flat box in the plan so that it has an opening 16 at one end and also has peripheral walls 17-20 surrounding the fix end 12. That is, the bracket is constructed in the form widening into the backmost so that the width on the opening 16 side is smaller than that in the backmost between the peripheral walls 17, 18. The gaps between the peripheral walls 17-19 of the bracket 13 and the side and end faces of the arm 11 are filled up with elastic substance 26 such as rubber. |
