PURPOSE:To prepare a nonvulcanizable self-fusible compsn. which is excellent in the self-fusibility in spite of its being unvulcanizable and has a large shrinking power after wound around a cable by blending a specific ethylene-propylene rubber with polyethylene. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. ethylene-propylene rubber having a viscosity-average MW (Flory) of 400,000 or higher is blended with 3 to 50pts.wt. polyethylene having a density of at least 0.93g/cm<3> to give a resin material for a nonvulcanizable self-fusible composition. As said ethylene-propylene rubber, EPM i.e. an ethylene-propylene copolymer or EPDM i.e. a terpolymer of ethyl ene, propylene, and a third unsatd. compd. is used. |
