PURPOSE: To prevent depriming by providing an air accumulating section having a specified diameter, deforming a bubble with a suction force generated from a printhead and passing ink between the bubble and the wall of a standpipe. CONSTITUTION: The supporting part 14 in an ink jet pen 1 to be fixed with a print head 18 has an outlet opening 16 and inner walls 20, 22 and determines the outline of a large diameter standpipe having an air accumulating section 24 disposed directly under a screen filter 26. The screen filter 26 captures a bubble entering into the standpipe from a printhead and stores the bubble in the section 24. More specifically, the bubble from the printhead 18 passes through a small or a low standpipe opening and enters into the ink jet pen 1 where it is captured in the standpipe by means of the screen filter 26. Consequently, the air in a foam member 12 is prevented from being sucked into the standpipe through capillarity. |
