PURPOSE:To improve the vertical orientativity of crystal constituting a vertically magnetized film to obtain a medium of a high recording density, by providing the vertical magnetized film on a substrate through a nonmagnetic layer having a thickness of about 50-1,500Angstrom . CONSTITUTION:A nonmagnetic layer consists of Ti, W, SiO2, or the like and has about 50-1,500Angstrom thickness is provided on a substrate (such as an alumite- treated aluminium plate and a glass plate), and a Co-Cr alloy is sputtered on this layer with a high frequency to form a vertically magnetized film, thus obtaining a medium for vertically magnetized recording. An amorphous layer having no crystal particles may be used instead of said nonmagnetic layer, and a substrate where a backing layer consisting of a soft magnetic material is provided may be used as said substrate. |
