<p>The equipment includes a receiving station (11) with a conveyor belt (12) on which customers can feed in returned bottles of different kinds and receive some for receipt. Inside the station is appts. for optically reading fed-in bottles. A microprocessor is connected to the reading appts. to activate special sorting equipment (13) when PET or other preselected bottles are recognised. The bottles are passed on to a side track (14) whilst other bottles are fed on to a large collecting table (15) or to a separate back track (24). The computerised picture processing system in the receiving station may be programmed to take account of new type of bottles. From the side track (14), bottles are fed one after another downwards into a fragmentation mill (16) which cuts or grinds them into small fragments for subsequent compression and bagging.</p> |
