<p>A process for the preparation of vinylic polymers, which comprises conducting an anionic polymerization wherein the metal of the cation counter to the carb-anion of the propagation terminal is Mg or Mg/M1 (wherein M1 is at least one alkali metal selected from the group consisting of Li, Na and K and the molar concentrations of Mg and M1 satisfy the relationship: [Mg]/[M1] ≥ 4) under the conditions of polymerization temperature of 45 to 250 °C and concentration of vinylic monomers of 45 to 100 wt.% based on the solvent used in the polymerization; and a polymerization initiator for vinylic monomers containing (R2)2Mg (wherein R2 is hydrocarbyl).</p> |
