PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction by turning off a contact in the case of the occurrence of contact welding of comparatively light degree. SOLUTION: A main contact r0 interposed between a commercial power supply AC and an illumination load L is turned on and off by a relay drive portion 2 driven by a set signal and a reset signal from a personal computer 1. A sub-contact state detection portion 3 detecting the on and off state of a sub-contact r1 interlocking with the main contact r0 is provided. The personal computer 1 judges that the main contact r0 is welded and performs following operation when the off of the sub-contact r1 is not detected by the sub-contact state detection portion 3 in spite of the output of the reset signal. After outputting the set signal once, the reset signal is again output causing a relay to mechanically vibrate so as to cut off the main contact r0 . Thereby, the malfunction resulting from welding can be prevented.
