<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure electrical contact between the electrodes on an insulating unit and a conductive layer and accelerate building work on straight joints in cables by electrically connecting it with a protective case, bonded to the circumference of the insulating unit in advance, using a flexible conductor. SOLUTION: One end of a flexible conductor 12 made of tin-plated annealed copper braided wire is soldered at factory in advance to the inside surface of one 11 of copper tubes to be connected together. In the field the one copper tube 11, that is, the copper tube with one end of the flexible conductor 12 attached thereto, is placed on an insulating unit 5 to cover part of the insulating unit 5. The other end of the flexible conductor 12 that has been left slack is pulled tight, and is soldered to electrodes 11. Thereafter, the copper tube 11 with one end of the flexible conductor 12 attached thereto is placed on the insulating unit 5 in position. This accelerates the building work on straight joints in cables in the field.</p> |
