The device includes a cutting wire (4) provided in a channel element (5) on the side of the adhesive layer remote from the edge of the windscreen or other bonded-in element (2). The windscreen is stuck to a frame by an adhesive layer (3) but the channel element is not stuck to the adhesive layer (3) but has an opening facing the adhesive layer and measured so that the cutting wire can emerge through this opening during the separating process without damaging the channel element. The channel element can be reused for a further cutting wire. The channel element can also be connected to the frame in place of the windscreen. The channel element may be made of a material which does not stick to the adhesive layer. One end of the cutting wire is fixed at one point.
