The invention relates to a device for forming an elongated roof construction, comprising a cover sheet and two or more flexible tubular inflatable suspension elements. Each suspension element is provided on both sides with a supporting foot which is connected to fixing elements situated along the longitudinal sides of the sheet. The suspension elements are each connected to an air supply duct. A roof construction is formed in a reliable and simple manner by bringing the suspension elements to pressure. The length of the device can be adapted to the desired dimensions by placing several identically shaped segments in a row, in which case the air supply ducts are interconnected.
