<p>PURPOSE:To provide the title substrate suitable for three-dimensional culture of cells, consisting of a fibrous structure with numerous fine recesses on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The objective substrate consisting of a fibrous structure such as fabric, knit, braid, nonwoven fabric with numerous fine recesses on the surface. The recesses can be formed, e.g. when polyester fiber is used, by weight reduction by alkali treatment. In this case, the weight reduction rate is pref. 5-70%. With this method, fibers are grown and developed with the fine recesses serving as trigger, resulting in smooth proliferation of fibroblasts and improving cell take characteristics. The fiber diameter for this fibrous structure is pref. >=5mum in consideration of biodegradation.</p> |
