<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a trauma protector which absorbs leaching fluid from trauma without any damage and which is peeled off from a damaged tissue easily by constituting the protector from foamed hydrogel of water insoluble alginate. CONSTITUTION: This trauma protector consists of foamed hydrogel of water insoluble alginate containing about 95% of water. The foamed hydrogel is size-stable and absorbs leaching liquid from trauma without swelling. Furthermore, even if it is saturated with blood or other saline, it has a constructive completeness sufficient to be peeled off from the trauma as a single piece. The foamed trauma protector can be made in situ from a reactive gelling composition directly at a trauma site. The reactive gelling composition foams when gelled. In the case of applying to trauma, a foaming action expands the protector mildly according to a void or a surface form to be applied. The protector hardens to size-stable foamed hydrogel correctly fitting for trauma.</p> |
