<p>PURPOSE:To form a tough covering layer on the outer surface of a roll by fitting a heat-shrinkable fluorinated carbon resin cylindrical body on the roll, and thereafter by thermally shrinking the cylindrical body in a vacuum condition. CONSTITUTION:A roll fitted thereon with a heat-shrinkable fluorinated carbon resin cylindrical body is set in a vacuum baking furnace, and air is evacuated from the furnace so as to obtain a vacuum condition up to 10<-3> to 10<-2>Torr. Thereafter, by heating the roll up to a furnace temperature at which the heat- shrinkable fluorinated carbon resin cylindrical body can be shrunk, the cylindrical body is thermally shrunk so as to make the cylindrical body into close contact with the outer surface of the roll. With this method, it is possible to easily form a tough fluorinated carbon resin covering layer on the outer surface of the roll.</p> |
