PURPOSE:To make it possible to use a paste-type cathode for a sealed-type battery without altering a conventional anode by installing a paste-type cathode containing a cathode active mass of oxides of >=2-valent nickel prepared by chemical oxidation of nickel hydroxide powder or a mixture of the oxides with hydroxides of >=2-valent nickel. CONSTITUTION:Nickel hydroxide in a paste-type cathode containing a cathode active mass of solely oxides or >=2-valent nickel prepared by chemical oxidation of a nickel hydroxide powder or a mixture of the oxides with hydroxides of >=2-valent nickel becomes in charged state in an equivalent of the total of (d) and (d). By using the cathode, even when anode which is supposed to be combined with a sintered-type cathode is combined with the cathode and used for a sealed-type battery, the battery can have well balanced capacity. By this way, in the case that the paste-type cathode is used, an anode does not need to be prepared specifically and even if the anode is so prepared as to be combined with a sintered-type cathode, a sealed-type battery having well balanced capacity can be prepared by using the cathode and anode. |
