Disclosed is apparatus and method for analyzing a metal ion material which can be made as compact size and is easily portable. The apparatus comprises a micro-controller(6) connected to an LCD(1) for displaying an analyzing result in a graphic mode, a key pad(2) for inputting a program, a printer(12) for outputting the result; a D/A converter(7) for converting a digital signal supplied from controller(6) to an analog signal; a potentiostat(8) which applies a voltage supplied from D/A converter(7) to a measuring cell(5) by using a control amplifier(13) so as to amplify an induced current by a current amplifier(17) according to a metal ion density in a solution; a filter(9) for removing a noise from the signal supplied from potentiostat(8); an amplifier(10) for amplifying the signal applied from filter(9); and an A/D converter(11) which converts an analog signal supplied from amplifier(10) to a digital signal and sends the digital signal to controller(6).
