Disclosed is an wave-detection circuit for a synchronization signal comprising an A/D converter(40), a reference voltage generator(120), a correlating detector(130), and a synchronization signal detector(90). The A/D converter(40) converts a complex image signal whose frequency is modulated and is an analog signal into a digital signal. The reference voltage generator(120) generates a reference signal having the same frequency as the synchronization signal. The correlating detector(130) detects the correlation between the signal converted into digital by the A/D converter(40) and the signal output from the reference voltage generator(120). The synchronization signal detector(90) detects the synchronization signal by using the signal output from the correlating detector(130). Thereby, it is possible to detect a correct synchronization signal
