PURPOSE:To easily switch to a picture color as an operator intends by selecting whether developing units are switched in a boundary position specified by a specifying means or other positions related to the position specified by the specifying means. CONSTITUTION:The copying machine is provided with the specifying means 101 specifying the boundary position, a storage means 623 storing information regarding the boundary position specified by the specifying means 101, a selecting means 101 which selects whether the developing units 4 and 5 are switched in the position specified by the specifying means 101 or other positions related to the position specified by the specifying means 101 according to information stored in the storage means 623, and a switching means 33 switching the developing units 4 and 5 according to the result selected by the selecting means 621. Namely, when the developing units are selected in the specified position, a developing color is switched in the specified position, whereas if they are switched in other positions related to the specified position, a developing color is switched in these positions. Consequently, a picture color can be switched as an operator intends. |
