FORMATION OF ORGANIC THIN FILM

PURPOSE:To form an organic thin film having an orderliness in a plane by forming a monomolecular film comprising at least two kinds of molecules having both hydrophilic and hydrophobic moieties on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:Organic molecules 1 comprising those having a cation (e.g. dimethyldodecylammonium) 6 and those having an anion (e.g. didodecyl phosphate) 7 are dissolved in a solvent and developed on a water phase 3 in an apparatus for forming a monomolecular film to evaporate the solvent, and a barrier 4 is moved toward a substrate 8 to increase the surface pressure to form a monomolecular film on the water phase 3. While keeping the surface pressure constant by the barrier 4, the substrate 8 immersed in the water phase 3 is pulled up to transfer the monomolecular film 5 to the substrate 8.
