<p>PURPOSE: To achieve a smooth vessel lining without giving a damage to the vessel lining by providing a rotatable cutting means at the tip of an arterirectomy catheter which is turnable on a flexible guide wire, whereby a clottage may be exsected, followed by being sucked up. CONSTITUTION: Continual passage 23 is defined between a turnable internal wall and the guide wire, and the relative motion between the rotatable catheter and guide wire mechanically act on the clottage drawn up into the continual passage, facilitating to transfer the clottage toward proximal end 15 of the rotatable catheter, and subsequently preparing a void into which to receive the clottage. Stainless steel-made hollow structural cutter blade 16 defines a tip of the flexible rotatable catheter. The blade has sawteeth 18 at its periphery which are bent inward against the blade center. Drawing-in toward the proximal end of the rotatable catheter is exercised by via-positive pressure displacement type suction pump 17 driven by electric motor 17. Drawing-in taking place in combination with the mechanical action in progress within the continual passage serves to transfer exsected clottage 12' toward the catheter proximal end.</p> |
